Who is Eligible to use Clay County Transportation?Clay County Transportation is available to all citizens of Clay County. We provide transportation for general purpose and medical trips. CCT does not provide emergency medical transportation. No person shall be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, sex, age, national origin or disability.
-
How do I schedule a ride?Clay County Transportation is a demand response system. This means all trips are scheduled in advance. In-county trips need to be made at least 1 working day in advance. Out of county trips to destinations such as Atlanta and Asheville, need to be made at least 2 working days in advance. All trips are taken on a first call first served basis and are booked on a "seat and driver" availability basis. Please let us know when you book your trip if you need a wheelchair lift equipped van, if you will be bringing a service animal, or if an attendant will be accompanying you. Need a ride? Call 828-389-0644 to book your trip today.
-
What is the inclement weather policy?CCT reserves the right to cease operations, at the discretion of the director, for adverse weather or road conditions.
-
What are the appointment times? All trips are booked on a first come, first served basis. Our schedules fill up fast! It is typically best to give at least 2-3 business days notice to book your trip. If you're booking a medical appointment locally, we ask that it falls between 8am-3pm (based on a 1-hour appointment time), this ensures that our drivers are back in the office before we close at 5:00pm. All long distance appointments (such as Asheville and Atlanta) must be between 10am-2pm (based on a 1-hour appointment time). This reduces wait time for all passengers and enables the van to return by 5pm.
-
How do I pay for my ride?Payment must be made to the driver. CCT accepts cash, checks or money orders in the exact amount of the fare. Drivers do not make change, so please have the exact amount ready.
